- "Holistic" refers to taking the
whole person into account when working on a particular area. In
holistic voice work, I am led by your interests and level of
involvement. We combine traditional voice techniques with
healing work that fits your comfort level. While most behavioral voice
problems stem from simple physical behaviors and can be easily
changed, many peoples’ voice use patterns stem from a deeper
underlying cause. We may carry
-
core beliefs
about self-expression (i. e., “What I say isn’t important”
or “People don’t listen to me” or “My voice is ugly”). We may not be
“speaking our truth”; perhaps a voice is tight because there is something
we are not saying. There may be emotions that we are not expressing,
causing the proverbial lump in the throat. We may be choking
on the words we aren’t saying when we feel we are treated poorly by a
loved one or a sales clerk. Some clients have even found that past life issues affect their
voice.
