The voice is one of
the actor's primary tools for expression. As actors, we need to not only
be heard and understood but also to convey the richness of the
character's emotional and psychological journey through the
voice.
Training the voice expands
the palette of options an actor has to choose from in creating a
character. Voice training also allows an actor to manipulate the voice
without injury. It's about options and
freedom.
Specifically, my work
borrows from Linklater, Lessac and Rodenburg and combines these
techniques with extensive knowledge of vocal anatomy, physiology, and
injury prevention. The result is an eclectic teaching style
that bridges the left and right
brain.
